I stayed at work today a bit longer to decorate a sheet cake for a Landscape Company that is having a catering done through Martino's, and this is there logo, and they are celebrating a 50th Anniversary! I know it does not look like much, but I hope they love it!

It is marble cake with buttercream frosting.

These are some of my flowers right now! There is something magical about the fact that these little nature creations can be so detailed and beautiful! The different times of the year, when they bloom, I have to smile! :0) Just thought I would share them with you!

RUFIO!!!!!
We took Rufio to the park yesterday for a break from work and things.......and Rufio enjoyed it. See his new hair cut? It has been very hot here, so he needed a trim for his deep black hair! Hehehe, and he is sticking his tongue out at you if you are making fun of him! :0)

This is a fabric wall hanging for a swap (1 for 1). We were to create a fabric piece that could be hung in the colors that the recipient would like.......her color choice was pastels. We could do whatever theme we wanted! This is my piece for her! Everyone have a good week.

My bud Laura invited me to a bird making party with some of her quilter friends! My bird from the night is on the right, standing alone! WHAT FUN this was.....and the inspiration for these are Nellie's, visit her blog and see pattern and instructions...........she did an amazing job with this all! Debbie, that gal who went over it all with us, had all these birds in stages......sitting on the piano for us to see! Hehehe, they all needed wings, beaks ,eyes etc. Are they not already adorable!!

BEFORE and AFGTER of my chair completed! This was a rummage sale find for THREE DOLLARS! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! I sanded more of the white paint OFF, and I added some collaging to it, recovered the chair seat and painted some high lights of color....just a fun project. Now it can be sat on and is pretty to look at (to me:0).

Here is my chair so far!
You can see that I sanded a bunch off of the high points of the scrolls and hen even on the edges and legs. I am collaging the back there and will be adding a few other things yet......I want to add some buttons and threads....the collage contains some cheesecloth,vintage ledger papers and fabric(flowers) from the chair seat that I recovered as well. Now that is a rummage sale find right? I am having fun with this little project and think it will be a fun altered piece of furniture. :0) Have a great week everyone. Hugs,Patti

This is a really cool chair I got at a rummage sale! I am going to age it a bit with sanding and then I am going to collage that center panel and recover the seating with some new material!

More nature! Today we have a BLACK SQUIRREL visiting.

Our normal squirrels are GRAY/BROWN (see Friday May 22nd posting for a picture of that kind) so this guy was a special treat!
My Dad will laugh that even he is here.......looking for trouble. Dad

sees more of these black squirrels upnorth, than here. We LOVE seeing

the wild life outside our window.:0)

We laid out red mulch this weekend to refresh our garden areas! I love it all new and it even smells good! AND we had a sweet little birdie visitor that also seemed to like it. :0) It was a baby and was flying around us and singing beautiful.......what a wonderful thing to see!

On the bottom picture, there is a squirrel on EACH SIDE of her hair hanging there, tail is up and face is down.....in like poses. Isn't that hilarious? The one clinging to her hair near her neckline made me laugh too! What funny creatures!

You know how when you ask a TEEN to pose for a picture(I just asked her to pretend to take a bite), and they get all crazy, sassy and silly! Well, I do not know what AMBER's excuse is, because she turned 20 MONDAY and is no longer a teen, but here it is!

We both laughed like crazy taking these pictures!

These are the AWESOME DANNY GOKEY cookies that a bakery here in Milwaukee made for Danny's big night tonight with American Idol!
They make these cookies for the Presidential Election as well, a stencil of the face and air brush them on a big sugar cookie. DANNY was honored with the same thing! I think it looks like him from the nose up.....his face should have been thinner! He is so handsome......the cookie is a little cartoonish, but we are ready to cheer for Danny and eat his face off during the show! Haaaaaahehehehe!

Amber also made the HEART with her hands(first picture) that you see Danny doing often, to represent his wife's foundation to help children! He makes the heart with his hands, SOPHIA's HEART FOUNDATION can be seen at the link below---he started this foundation in her honor and in hopes of helping children in need! Danny is a fine example, AN AMERICAN IDOL one could say!
