Pinterest has gotten me hooked on trying some new delish recipes.

The first is a lemon zest and lemon juice muffin with buttermild. I made that this morning and they are light and heavenly!!!!! The next recipe was a stuffed green pepper using carrots, red onion, and cauliflower(no rice)chopped tomatoes and ground beef.

This came out great and I topped mine with salsa and jalapenos to kick it up a notch. The bottom picture shows it raw in the crock pot. This was a slow cooker recipe!!!!!! It came out fantastic and both recipes taste super. Mmmmmmmmmm! So this is my art for this week. :) Food is art right?

Lakefront Festival of Arts
how to describe this? This is the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the juried festival. There are 170 artists who bring their exemplary work to exhibit and sell under tents at the beautiful and unique Milwaukee Lakefront, right by and in the museum as well. There were special attractions for the kids, and a silent auction and live music and a wine garden. There was the sand sculpture and many MANY beautiful pieces of all kinds of art to view, from wood, to metal, clay, fiber, fabric, jewelry, pictures, paintings, mixed media, quicky and unique. More than I can describe! Photos were discouraged, so I did the best I could.
Here are a couple links to the artists pages of a few different things. Just amazing!
James Eaton
Nicario Jimenez
Betsy Youngquust
James and Victoria Mullan
Paul Klein
John Petrey
James Borden
Marilee Hall
David Burton
Anyways, these are some of the ones that blew us away! We wish that we had more $$$$ to be able to purchase some unique pieces from these people, but we felt honored to be able to view it all!
It was a good (very sweaty) fun art intake day! :)
By the way, we parked at Veterans Park and a Yellow School bus shuttled us over, that is what the picture of the back of people's head on a bus is. And then the city views from the parking area we felt was even kind of pretty. But it might have been heat stroke! Hehahaha!

Amber and I made some peanut butter chocolate chip cupcakes with peanut butter frosting for her Harry Pottery dress up party!
These are the finished cupcakes. Amber called them "Divination Cupcakes" because Professor Trelawney tells fortunes. She also included a fortune below each cupcake that is tucked into a secondary cupcake paper to be found when eating the cupcake.
The REAL Professor Trelawney and below is Amber ready to go for her party! I made the head scarf and we found the rest of the things, including the clothes (at Value Village) and Merchandise Outlet helped with the glasses and ball. :) Such fun!

Recycle, Reuse, Repurpose a Dresser as a Planter
Recylce, reuse, repurpose! Those are the words for this project. Earl and I were at a thrift shop and found a very beat up dresser that really could not be used for clothes any longer for super cheap. We took it home and gave it some TLC until became this planter dresser!!!!!!! I love it and hope you do too.
We sanded, painted and decorated and then used the drawers as a place to add the planter boxes along with the plants. Earl actually screwed the drawers into place on the side so there is no chance of them dropping out or anything. What fun! I hope it lasts a couple of seasons. :) I think this was a great thing to do with dresser to save it from the land fill. HURRAY!
Have a great day everyone.
