Monster Easter Eggs

We all colored Easter Eggs today! It makes me laugh. I bought a little box set with monster faces and orange hair. They made the funniest eggs. I love them!!!!!! Some have hair, goatee, mustache, comb over, crazy lashes etc. Anyways, I love them and we all laughed pretty hard about how the boring colored eggs took on a life with this little set. Haaaaa!

Amber had me download an app......Pic Stitch, where you can collage a few images together as shown in this pic. :)
Onto our deviled eggs! Ohhhhhhh hilarious. The top pic is the one we saw that made us want to make these. The bottle pic is our worst , that had us rolling on the floor laughing, so........Amber made one of those NAILED IT comparisons that shows.......we truly DID NOT! :) Funny!

They still taste delicious, but we needed to take more time on these and were not in the mood, so they came out as is. The worse they looked, the more we liked them.....describing the circumstance that made them  look that way.........my brother beat me up chick, hang over chick, I've fallen and can't get up chick, etc. Haaaahehehe! Anyways, this was our fun for today! By the way, the eyes are pieces of black olives and the beaks are carrots!!!!! Good luck if you want to make them! Be ready to say......NAILED IT!

Since Easter is on it's way, just a week away, I thought I would share some EGG shaped ATCs (altered trading cards) from years ago. I have them all attached to a privacy screen that I adore. It is an EYE FULL of art. Anyways, we did them in the shape of eggs and I just loved them. Nothing like revisiting art that makes you smile!!!!!! Below you can see the whole screen. The eggs are in the middle section at the top.

I have traded MANY atcs over the years and this is a fun and excellent way to display them and adore them all!

Today I was busy making Easter nests. I did two different kinds. The first kind is using milk chocolate and peanut butter with the hard Chinese noodles, with the malt eggs. The second type uses white chocolate and the malt eggs. I also made some little bird cookies to include with them.

I needed to finish these today so they are not perfect by any means, but will be great fun to eat. Yum!
Hoping that you have plans for a Happy Easter coming soon. Here's hoping our weather turns warmer! :)

Four ingredient Peach Cobbler

Today Amber and I made a super simple Peach Cobbler! Yum! Ingredients.....
2 cans of peaches in syrup, 1 yellow cake mix, 1 stick of butter and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (we doubled it and made 2 pans.) Mom and Dad will get the smaller pan! :) SURPRISE!!!!!!!!
Amber cut the peaches into smaller pieces. Pour the peaches AND syrup into the pan. Sprinkle with a portion of the cinnamon.
Cut the butter into pieces. Pour the cake mix over the peaches and place the pieces of butter all over the top sort of evenly spread out and sprinkle remaining cinnamon. THAT is it. FOUR (4) simple ingredients.

Bake in the oven @ 375 for 45 minutes.
The syrup, butter and cinnamon smells heavenly while baking. The texture is just right.
Here is a close up of the finished cobbler. Just really yummy.
But EVEN better with a scoop or two of Breyers Natural Vanilla ice cream! Mmmmmmmmm, this hit the spot!

This is a Feta Dip for Julie. The bottom is hummus. Then the toppings are 12 Roma tomatoes, 4-5 Green onions, 6 oz. feta cheese crumbled, 2 tsp. Cavender's Greek seasoning, sliced black olives, sliced cucumber, pepperonchinis cut up, and a drizzle of oil oil and serve with pita chips or baguettes or something crunchy of choice. :) It is colorful and tasty. Add as much or as little of the items to your taste.

This is the table setting for Julie. Cathy made a wonderful, Craisen, pecan and apple salad, and Julie loved it all. We made her wear a crown that said LOVE, for a little while at least! Hehehehe!!!!!
These are the cupcakes on the serving tray now. It was a good birthday celebration!

Ok, here we go. Tomorrow is Julie's birthday and I think she thinks we forgot. But really, we just needed the weekend to make it as special as her.

I am bringing beautiful Butterfly Cupcakes and Easy Fetta Dip. I will share the Fetta Dip tomorrow.
I saw both of these ideas in Pinterest! That site makes me smile for sure.

First the cupcakes. You take Wilton Candy Melts......you pipe the melted chips onto some butterflies that you print out to follow as a guide. The chips are melted and a little hard to control as you pipe. I used a plastic baggie, but next time will use an actual piping bag and tip. It would offer much more control.

Pipe the wings, and some antennae too. MORE than what you need, because some will break.
Use a toothpick to blend the wings , with their colors. I did pink and orange, but you could do more colors. Pipe a wing and blend colors. Then move to the next. Unless you have two people working on wings, which would be wonderful. Otherwise the dark chocolate will dry before you are able to blend the colors.

Bake your cupcakes. After the cupcakes come out of the oven, I added Lindore Truffles, in white chocolate. Making an X in the top of the cupcake with a knife and just sliding it in. Let cool completely.

Then make your butter cream frosting and frost the cupcake. I used a butterscotch chip to help support the wings.

Place the wings on the cupcake, the antennae and then pipe the body with chocolate frosting. Aren't they just a fun way to have a birthday celebration? Tomorrow I will add another picture of the table with them on the display plate. Right now for transportation, I have them in a tupperware.

I got this nice recipe off of Pinterest. You take a roast.....a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix, a packet of Au Jus Gravy mix and a stick of butter. All goes into the crock pot ON low for 8 hours. NO WATER is added. It cooked up great and I broke up the meat as it cooked. Served over mashed potatoes, it was really great!

Tender and flavorful meat from the easiest recipe ever! :) Happy Weekend! Check back in tomorrow for cupcakes for Julie's birthday.
